Is manipulating photos cheating?

As you all know, I love playing with technology and that includes apps! My preferred learning styles are visual/audio/kinesthetic – so basically I learn better by seeing, hearing and touching. An avid life long learner I recently had an external blog review done by (more…)

Warning: Gratitude and Instagram are addictive

I joined Instagram 12 weeks ago and was such a baby at it! I recall the day Steve Davis from The Rite Series NT nudged me about using it. I was wearing knee high stilletto leather boots that he (more…)

Was Jesus a Guerilla Marketer? Part II

I had some fabulous feedback from a blog I posted yesterday suggesting Jesus Christ was actually a Guerilla marketer. Included in that feedback was a query from a friend and colleague who happens to be a buddhist and was puzzled about the notion I posed. Thank you my friend for this great query, as it has prompted me to expand my thinking even more on this whole concept!

In fact, on reflection, I suspect (more…)

Was Jesus a guerilla marketer?

I love the Northern Territory (NT) and the amazing people I get to meet up here. Bordering on paroquial, there are some consultants who fly in and out of the NT (aka seagulls) that drive me batty. And then there are others like conscious consultant Michelle Bailey, and marketing director Steve Davis who are rightfully respected and accepted, together with local globe trotting motivational speaker and entrepreneur A J Kulatunga as assets (more…)

Warning: Beware the ‘fairy tales’ in profile spin

Let me say up front, beware, as I’m on a roll with a slight rant.

There are some great articles presently doing the rounds reminding us of the top 10 most overused words based on an article released by LinkedIn. Topping the list are “creative”, “organizational” and “effective”. The official press release is well worth a read, especially for us internationals, as the research includes (more…)

Courage, coaching and guest blogging Part II

A few weeks, back Jack Lundee featured here as a guest blogger on the topic of  Courage. Here’s the second and final part to Jack’s blog:

To use a more modern example, both Chelsea Clinton and Christy Turlington have implemented a program called Phones for Hope, which is supposed to provide medical equipment in the form of phones to mothers in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nepal. Always a leader in providing commitments to action, the Clinton Global Initiative

Our Little Books

I still remember the sheer joy and excitement I experienced when I read my first published guest blog!  The taste of that first buzz hasn’t left me and I’m still in touch with Candace Davenport of Our Little Books today.

One of my life missions is to assemble “A Band of Bloggers”with the likes of Summer GoodwinMegan Bayliss, Lisa Fields Michele Bailey Dr Richard Norris Dr Paula Fellingham and a few others!

Having thrown out a line last year inviting guest bloggers to contact me, you can imagine my surprise when I got an email from

The Two Commandments to Social Media

I only met Steve Davis a few months ago and must say his Twitter bio is a pretty good insight into who he is:

Steve is currently conducting an October Business Month project – capturing best practice in the Northern Territory  ”The RITE Series”. The project has been incredibly helpful for me and my business.  Steve’s insights have really helped sharpen my focus,  and redirect (more…)

How big are you?

Alan Cohen’s book A Deep Breath of Life has long fed my soul and helped keep me focused. This battered, tattered and tea stained book is part of my tool kit for wellbeing.  If we are not clear about what we are doing and why we are doing it, it’s way too easy for us to get off track.

And as much as I don’t like to admit it, in the intensity of the social media world, I sometimes catch myself running the numbers game and compare Klout scores, number of Facebook ‘friends and /or ‘likers’, Twitter followers and Foursquare ‘friends’. Which intrigues me, because in my everyday life this is no longer a default mechanism.

See, rejection used to be a core issue of mine, until I realised (more…)

I wrote a blog on top tips for Twitter Newbies in July 2011 (read more here) and got fantastic feedback from some great tweeps. However, when some friends and colleagues who were completely new to Twitter asked me for advise and I pointed them to my tip sheet, what unfolded was a host of other questions!

So I got together with my close friend and colleague Michelle Bailey who is relatively new to Twitter, and asked her (more…)

I love infographics, so just for fun, today I played with this app from The Print Effect. What a hoot!

Are you a part of the Klout community?

Klout is the latest social media tool I have been introduced to thanks to @yhpo and I have to say I am impressed! At first I questioned why on earth I would want to use something like klout.com Quite frankly, it looked a bit kitch to me! You see meaning and relevance matter to me and initially, while trusting my mate’s judgement, I didn’t really (more…)

Have you unlocked LinkedIn or are you still Locked out?

Without realising it, most of us go to the internet because we are either consciously or sub consciously looking for a solution to a problem. Some of us are looking to connect, share, enquire, yell, sell, swap and buy, amongst many other things. Facebook isn’t my favourite space to look for solutions, however I acknowledge that it’s the biggest online watering hole in cyberspace! And if I want to stay connected and find out what’s happening out there, then I need to at least have a presence there right?

Well, having conducted my own research, no matter what kind of interactions I have initiated on my FaceBook business page in the last 6 months, I still don’t get (more…)

My top twitter tips so far…….

On the road to recovery….. Darwin Private Hospital Sept 2009

I opened my first Twitter account @bronwynclee in late 2009 as a ‘recovery aid’ and am so grateful that our son insisted I invest in an iPhone. Having been hospitalised for almost 3 months, feeling geographically and emotionally isolated from the dreams of launching my new business Bronwyn Clee & Associates, I decided to explore Twitter.

At that stage, I had little understanding of the world of social media other than Facebook, which at that time, held more of a personal connection for me rather than a professional one. I decided that I wanted to establish my Twitter presence with a professional edge, spiced up with by my own personal touch.

My preferred learning style has always been to learn by doing, doing and doing. And I know one of the greatest law of the universe is 10,000 repetitions make an expert! So, while unfamiliar with Twitter I was determined to become at the very least, a proficient user.

These aren’t hard and fast rules (more…)

Open space technology facilitates conversations that matter

I attended an Open Space Technology (OST) facilitators training in beautiful Fremantle in Western Australia with my friend and colleague Marg Lambert last year. Having read about this alternative technology a while ago I knew that when the time was right, that I would immerse myself in it’s methodology. Valuing conversations that matter for as long as I can remember, I attended this workshop thirsty to learn more and to test what I already knew. The simplicity of OST is profound. The singular Law that underpins the whole process is
