Daily Gratitudes

I am grateful for

1) our children’s positive mental attitude and very healthy outlooks on life

2) knowing we are a strengthened family unit for all of the challenges we continue to experience

3) my parents unconditional love

4) sharing fresh mudcrabs and homemade crunchy Asian salad with family

5) knowing that I am not responsible for how others choose to behave

6) declining relentless invitations to behave badly

7) speaking my truth

8 my commitment to integrity

9) Mother Nature and her constant offer to be nurtured in her loving arms

Two Wolves One Tree Two Trunks

No matter how many times I read this beautiful old Cherokee story within a story, it proves to be a beautiful reminder. In fact when I walk past this magnificent tree on my way to the beach, I think of this story.

Two Wolves
One night an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, deceit, superiority and ego.

The other is Good.

It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather

“Which one wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied “The one you feed”.

May we continue to choose to love, nurture and feed the Good in us all!
